PHILADELPHIA – Philadelphians looking to take trips
to the nation’s capital now have a new transit option, as OurBus
recently launched an intercity bus route from Philly to Washington DC.
The service launched Friday, April 13 and includes a stop in Columbia Maryland, the company said in an announcement.
The route is a partnership with Stouts Transportation, a charter bus firm based in Trenton, New Jersey.
OurBus identified a need for more direct travel options for Philadelphia residents to DC,
and is offering express service that will start on 3802 Ludlow Street,
next to the intersection of 38th Street, and drop off at Union Station
in Washington, DC.
“We’re filling a much needed gap in the Philadelphia university area, giving travelers an easier and more efficient way to travel to DC, with limited stops in between,” Erica Prince, senior operations leader at OurBus, said in a statement. “With our Philly to DC
service, we’re offering our customers all of the comforts they need to
relax during their trip or to be more productive, including wi-fi,
bottled water, individual charging ports and bathrooms.”
Fares start at $16.
The route’s Columbia stop will be convenient for passengers who are
heading to suburban Maryland, but do not need to travel into the center
of DC. Free overnight parking is available at the Columbia stop, OurBus
said.
